                   So-called Miccosukee Tribe of Indians vs. State of Florida

Dear Judge Kehoe:

We have heard there was a story in the Miami newspaper saying that one of our former Miccosukee councilman, Buffalo Tiger, is still impersonating our Nation and trying to sell our Everglades homeland in a court case in your court.

We asked some friends to try and find out if it is the same case we protested a few years ago in the same court, but a different judge.  They tell us it is case number 79-253  CIV JAG.

In case you have not seen our last protest, or if our last letter was not put in this court papers, we want you and the rest of the world to know the truth.

The truth is that Mr. Buffalo Tiger does not represent our Miccosukee Nation, and has not since he gave us the written resignation, we are sending you in this letter, which was notarized by Mildred L. Duval on March 24, 1961, when Mr. Tiger went to work for your government as a United States employee.  He has the same job today, working with a handful of Indians that the United States, until recently, spent millions of dollars each year, just to make this fraud.  Now that Mr. Reagan is cutting out this hand-out, it looks like Mr. Tiger is trying to get some from the State of Florida.

Mr. Tiger, and these so-called Miccosukee Tribe, who are all U.S. government employees, have no more right to sell our Miccosukee Everglades homeland than Mr. Breshnev has to sell Washington D.C.

Over 100 years ago our our great Chief Osceola told your people our Everglades homeland is not for sale.  In 1835 your great Chief Justice John Marshall agreed with him. . . . saying that the United States became a trustee of our Miccosukee Nation and our. . .

We are told that a Trustee of people and their land is not supposed to make tricks with it.

Even though we hear that Florida says it needs more tax money, we believe it will give Mr. Tiger this hand-out anyhow, and we want to put this in your court records again, to keep the records straight, in case our last letter of protest is not in there.
