U.S. GETS ULTIMATUM FROM INDIANS
'Settle All Our Land Claims NOW!' 60 Days Or Else
col.1
Promises Unfulfilled
"Indian cattle trustees, living on the Florida reservations, brought suit through a Jacksonville law firm in 1950 and in the name of all the Indians in Florida. They sued the United States for $350,000,000.
But the Miccosukee tribe, living off the reservation in the Everglades, said, "We don't want money. We want land." (emphasis supplied) |
